Warning: Major Ramble Ahead............

Igor Panarin, a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian foreign affairs ministry believes that the United States will breakup according to ethnic divisions in geographical areas.

In theory states can pull out of the Union but in reality, the first civil war kind of put an end to that notion.

States can hold a constitutional convention to amend or even to totally rewrite the Constitution. That could lead to a break up but more likely simply a weakening of the Federal Govenment to increase the power of state governments.

It is possible the United States will have civil upheaval and perhaps even a 2nd civil war but it is unlikely to happen along ethnic lines but rather along economic and political lines. But even if such civil upheaval were to reach the level of a 2nd civil war it is highly unlikely that would pull the United States apart.

We are a nation of laws that is restricted by the Constitution. We are a Republic where the rights of individuals are protected. Although we have a media that plays into mob rule and pitting groups against one another, we are not a nation under mob rule.

The notion that any ethnic group could form a separate nation in the United States is interesting but I can't say that it would be likely without outside interference. The greater danger to the United States is that during economic or civil upheaval, we might be invaded.

And that Russia or even Europe might be playing with the notion of treating the United States like Yugoslavia in time of crisis is troubling.

What Igor Panarin is saying is more reflective of the mindset of Russia than what is actually happening in the United States. What really worries Russia is that the United States may soon embrace a policy of Confederating with Canada and Mexico and parts of Eastern Europe and perhaps even China in an economic Union like the World has never seen. If the eccentric leaders of Russia causes them to be left out of the coming new Economic Revolution, that will truly suck for the Russian people.

Out of this current economic crisis we may soon see the rise of a new economic age lead by the United States and China that will accomplish more than any utopianist in Russia or China has ever thought to dream.

Is the age of a new Mu approaching for the United States????? Or is indeed the United States going the way of Ancient Rome and the old Soviet Union? It is interesting to ponder both scenarios but only time will tell what the future really holds.

And yeah, I know, according to scientist Atlantis and Mu didn't really exist. According to them Continents can't really vanish beneath oceans or ice caps or asteroids or by an unknown molecular weapon. And Columbus's search for Atlantis (that was actually what he was doing when.....) was rather silly. Columbus thinking he might discover Atlantis was just crazy. ;-)
