The potential exit of Jennifer Love Hewitt's leading man, after the exit of her other leading man, not sitting well with many fans. But ratings have been going up with this plotline.

People not much liking the loss of the Prof. Payne character and the idea her husband may also about to be given the boot is just too much for many fans.

The show has all the earmarks of a show where the producers are being messed with by people in the network such as the casting of Jammie Kennedy as a character. That looks more like a network decision than a producer decision, though nothing wrong with Jammie Kennedy. The character and the casting just doesn't fit as it would if the decision had been part of the producers / writers natural inclination. Course I could be totally wrong.

And it was reported some time ago that the show would be cancelled; which doesn't really make sense since it is a quality show with a good fan base that does translate into better than average ratings for many of the shows airings.

What many in the forum are suggesting is that the current plotline will end where instead of her husband Jim being dead, she will have been in a coma and dreaming. If indeed that is what they are doing, the Jammie Kennedy character might have been brought in as someone who could help guide Melinda back to her body if the plotline is that she is stranded between life and death and confused. Course they could have used the mother character for that...........

If indeed she is the confused spirit, though not dead cause that would be the end of the show, that could be a dang good plotline but dang difficult to write and direct and make work as they transition to flip the character focus.

Sixth Sense did their flip with seeming ease and perfection but..............
