Poem: Gidget My Girl

Gidget My Girl

By Chuck Peters and Juanita Peters

Gidget, my girl, has long black curls

And sparkling eyes that glisten like pearls

She is soft and warm, this girl of mine

And with me she stays, all the time

Her turned up nose and stately pose

Add up to make her the perfect rose

Into my bed at night she creeps

And I hold her in my arms til we fall asleep

She's up with the sun,

My fun loving one

To wish me good-bye

With a tear in her eye

She's just a dog, you may say,

But she thinks she's human and I love her anyway

A poem from when I was in the 7th grade

Retyped in loving memory of the family poodle Gidget
