Congress Placing Blame

Congress is trying to place the blame for this economic mess on everyone but themselves. This wouldn't matter, except that Congress and leaders continue to deal with the issues in which they were clearly on the wrong side and they continue to be on the wrong side and are attempting to continue to go forward with those failed economic policies.

___
Free Trade. Doesn't exist. Basically an excuse for bad policy. It is important for countries to be able to deal with trade imbalances by putting temporary duties in place and not allow local businesses to be obliterated by unfair policies. Local business regulatied. Foreign businesses should face same regulation. Local business taxed. Foreign businesses should have to pay same tax for access to the market.

___
Globalism. Politicians and propaganda networks talk about Globalism as though it is something new. It isn't. Making economies interdependent was invisioned by Marx. The old Soviet Union and the nations that were forced into the block intentionally had their economies made interdependent by design. It is about the politics of power and control. It is not about good economics. Nations of old that had their economies dependent on interdependent colonialism suffered problems from the same bad economics.

Rome fell in part because it over extended itself with Globalism.

Alexander the Great in large part had success with his "Globalism" because he empowered local governments. Once he conquered an area he did not attempt to exert Central Control but understood the importance of local control. He did not strangle local economies to finance his military advancement. He conquered. He did not obliterate.

Every nation has got to rebuild cottage industries to not only make their national economies less dependent on foreign nations, but they need to rebuild cottage industries to make local economies less dependent on national economies.

To fight WWII the United States had to establish a War Board to build or rebuild industries for the War Machine. The depression was largely caused by Globalism and bad trade policies that had led to the United States not maintaining industries, cottage and larger.

People like to say that it was protectionism that caused the Depression. Using taxes to pay down National Debt did add to the depression. But it was huge trade imbalances that led to both protectionism and the Depression that were signs of a world wide broken economy. A small group of businesses, corporate raiders and such, were allowed to basically cannibalize smaller and local businesses and their markets. The same process has been happening today with a growing concentration of wealth into the hands of too few people.

___

All nations must make looking out for their own economies their number one priority and they need to do this through local governments and listening to local governments and local businesses.

____

Corporate Mergers. Corporate mergers need to be discouraged and stopped. Instead Congress and the Bush administration have used Corporate Mergers to try to solve an economic crisis in part caused by bad Corporate Mergers and Corporate obliteration of Cottage Industry. Totally insane policy.

Giant Corporations must not be allowed to obliterate local competition!!!

___

Economic Centralism Does NOT work.
