Situation Comedy My Mother the Car which aired for a single season on NBC between September 14, 1965 and September 6, 1966. Thirty episodes were produced in all by United Artists Television. In 2002, TV Guide proclaimed it to be the second-worst TV show of all time, just behind The Jerry Springer Show.

The show follows the exploits of attorney David Crabtree (played by Jerry Van Dyke), who, while shopping at a used car lot for a station wagon to serve as a second family car, instead purchases a dilapidated 1928 "Porter" touring car. Crabtree heard the car call his name in a woman's voice which turned out to be that of his deceased mother.

Jerry Van Dyke who is probably as funny, if not more funny, than his brother Dick Van Dyke he has a totally different personality. The show was created by Allan Burns and Chris Hayward, who had better success with Rocky & Bullwinkle, The Munsters, and Get Smart (which debuted the same season). Get Smart without Don Adams and Barbara Feldon just isn't Get Smart as the movie proved. My Mother the Car was not really that bad of a show and it wasn't really any of the actors fault that it didn't succeed but it did not have that chemistry between the characters that Get Smart or The Munsters had.

Second Worst Show behind Jerry Springer? I kind of think that is a bit harsh for both shows. I wish people weren't so afraid to experiment and try different things on television.
